Is it possible to add information to an existing ticket? The general belief seems to be that the problem only affects the 6800's whereas I'm experiencing it with my 7800 too. I guess it doesn't really matter, but it might help them in debugging <shrug>.

There are some new beta driver (no release notes) but wonder if they fixed it in these. 81.89 - http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/...showtopic=8185

It is MS whql aka will not crash windows but not clue the effect on games.

Anet should create support ticket / FAQ question on there site instead of waiting for Nvidia to fix it.
If your having problems with other Nvidia cards with same issue(s) by all means you should post.

(Edit - Tmomo2002 - The link are to non-official MS WHQL version 81.89)

I agree but had this issue, FFXI an "Nvidia" game had texture issues (very slight) for the entire 6x.xx series of drivers on my card I had to A) use the 5x series B) Finally fixed in the 77.77 driver

ForceWare Beta 81.87 are non WHQL and does NOT fix the problem.

It is insulting that nVidia tune up drivers to rank up benchmarking CoD2, Q4, FEAR, and it results in graphical glitches in another games...

I would but after 4 driver changes I am sick and tired of repositioning my icons on the screen. Everytime I cahange thw driver, they switch to "auto arrange" and I have a mess. I know its not important, however its annoying. So unless it is a GW fix without other problems count me out for testing.

I'm also having this problem. I would rollback, but this new driver has fixed some crashing/freezing problems my XFX 6800 was having before.
Funny enough, whenever i try to take a screenshot the problem fixes itself for that map. And the screenshot has no squares on it..... o_O

Sadly the 9800 pro i upgraded from had no issues, nvidia better fix this fast, as i just got this i dont have the older drivers to roll back too.
That is rather apparent in the Nvidia 6-series. Perhaps there needs to be a texture repair button in the options without having to adjust it all the time ><

I've just installed official WHQL 81.95 and the problem seems to be solved, at least for 6800GT.

I did like 10-12 "teleports" and the glitches have dissapeared.

Please someone else check this in other 6X and 7X variants and then the OP or a mod should change the title of this thread to something like "Nvidia graphical issue solved with 81.95" xD

Yep - In the Release Notes:

Quote:
Single GPU Issues Resolved
• There is a possible incompatibility between the ForceWare graphics
driver and the current WDM driver.
• GeForce 7 Series: Modifying any Performance and Quality Setting
using the system tray icon turns off Gamma and Transparency
Antialiasing.
• GeForce 6800 Ultra: Textures are corrupted upon the first time
entering a zone in Guild Wars.
Download Link 2k/XP - http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_81.95.html

I posted a request in site feed back to have a mod change the title. I can edit subtitle that appears above my post but not the orginal threed. - Super speedy mod fixed it

81.95 fixed the texture problem, but i think it introduced a new problem that wasn't in the v78.01 driver. The problem is that when i'm playing, about once every 15 minutes or so I get a large framerate drop for about 5 seconds. Sometimes it happens when i'm in a city; sometimes it happens when i'm in the middle of a quest.

I don't notice any problem with distance background and shimmering. I'm using a 6800 GT. I play the game in window mode with the desktop at 1280x1024. 4x AA, 8x AF.
